Omar Al-Samadi

Omar Al-Samadi

Omar is a Tkarón:to based graphic artist and photographer who works primarily with film. They shoot in varying styles ranging between landscape, architecture, portraiture, and photojournalism. Omar enjoys working with narratives and capturing images and subjects “as they are”. They strive to find beauty where least expected . . . in the mundanity of day to day. Omar is also an archivist in training at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information. Their graduate research focuses on the decolonization of archives, exploring how memory, power, and archival preservation intersect.
